About me

As a jazz pianist and composer, I am passionate about using music to convey emotions and tell stories. I recently completed my Master's degree in Jazz Studies at Conservatorium Maastricht, where my thesis focuses on the blending of South African jazz and Armenian folk music in composition. As an Armenian-South African living in the Netherlands, my multicultural background has greatly influenced my artistic vision.

My time studying has sparked a keen interest in film music and original composition, which I aspire to further develop in my career. Prior to my Master's, I obtained a Bachelor of Music degree, specialising in Jazz Piano Performance, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), both from the University of Cape Town.

Outside of my professional pursuits, I enjoy traveling to new destinations and exploring local markets, drawing inspiration from different cultures and experiences. As a musician, educator, and curious explorer, I am committed to continuous growth and leveraging my art to make a positive impact. Giving back to the community is also an important value of mine, and I have volunteered in various capacities to support music education initiatives.

When I'm not composing music, you can usually find me enjoying a cup of tea along with a sweet treat or planning my next adventure!
